My name is Pastor Brett Hartwig and I have been the pastor here at Trinity since 2013.  I grew up in Vicksburg, Michigan and attended Concordia University St. Paul. Right out of college I was a Lutheran school teacher for 5 years before going to the seminary. I served as the Jr. High History teacher for 4 years at Baton Rouge Lutheran School and 1 year as the 5th/6th grade teacher at the Lutheran Academy in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  I then went to Concordia Seminary in St. Louis where I received my call to shepherd the people here at Trinity. I love spending time outside, hiking and biking with my family and also playing golf and tennis. I am a huge NDSU fan and Green Bay Packer fan, I guess you could say I bleed green and gold!  One of my favorite Bible verses is Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”  This verse reminds me that God is always present in my life, whether in good times and bad times and is always there to give strength and support whenever I need it.  The one thing I love about Trinity is our family atmosphere.  We are one big family that is always there for each other through the ups and downs of life sharing the love of Christ with each other.

Emmalee Kuphal, DCE

Hi! I’m Emmalee Kuphal and I am the Director of Christian Education.
I grew up in Winthrop, MN and have attended Lutheran schools my entire life. I graduated from Concordia University, St Paul in 2013 and took my first call to Fountain of Life Lutheran Church, in Tucson, Arizona. I served there for 5 years before moving back to the tundra.  Trinity installed me as their DCE in September 2018. At church you’ll find me working with the children and youth, leading women’s ministry, and helping with technology. Outside of work I love to hike, read, travel, and do photography. I also love spending time with my parents, three brothers, sister-in-law and nephew.
My favorite Bible verse is Revelation 2:10 –“Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.”  This verse reminds me that through it all, if we remain faithful to God, we will spend eternity with Him in heaven. There is no greater gift.
What I love most about Trinity is the relationships. Everyone is willing to help out and we all genuinely love spending time with each other.
